Cautionary Notes
Make sure you select the correct service type before continuing, since Standard Service and Pet Service follow different booking structures.
Double-check duration, slot interval, and buffer times to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Confirm pricing, currency, and tax settings before saving the service.
Only enable open price or open time if staff should be allowed to adjust those details at checkout.
Review add-ons carefully so the price and time override match the actual service workflow.
Verify customer questions, waivers, and cancellation policies before publishing the service.
Tips for Efficiency
Prepare categories, tax rules, and employee assignments before creating the service to speed up setup.
Use templates to standardize service creation across your team.
Keep service descriptions and photos consistent for a cleaner customer booking experience.
Review the preview panel before saving to catch errors early.
If you offer similar services often, duplicate the setup pattern and adjust only the service-specific details.

Creating a Standard Service Booking - Watch Video
This Loom walks through how to create a new service in the Services area. The presenter shows adding a Standard Service or Pet Service, choosing a template, and building a haircut with categories, description, and photo, then setting duration (30 minutes), slot interval, buffer time, and pricing in USD. It also covers enabling an existing 5% taxable service from settings, optional open price or open time at checkout, and configuring advanced booking days and two hour notice with slot limits. The Loom further explains payment options, tip settings, and adding add-ons or upsells such as an Olaplex K18 for 15 minutes and $40 with an optional price override, plus customer questions, waivers, and cancellation policy.
